FDIC Insurance coverage has been increased from $100,000 to $250,000 until December 31, 2013. In addition, Putnam County Savings Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. This program provides that the entire amount on deposit in all non-interest-bearing accounts such as PCSB's Personal Checking and Business Checking Accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC through December 31, 2010. The Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general insurance rule, which has been increased to $250,000 until December 31, 2013. It should be noted that PCSB's NOW Accounts do not qualify for this additional coverage.
